Race 4 marks the middle of the Spring Series.  It's also the first race in 2017/18 daylight saving time, hence the start at 1:00pm rather than 12:00pm.  The modification to the handicapping system, introduced for the last race, had its expected, positive effect (well, not for the boat that had been consistently winning), and is likely to see the field opening up again.  But the clear message remains:  if you want a chance at getting your name on the silverware at the end of the season, the first essential is to be there ... DNS's do not a winner make.
